We at the Pompton Lakes Municipal Utilities Authority remain committed to providing our community with water that meets or surpasses all standards for safe drinking water. These health and safety standards are set by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (E.P.A.) and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (N.J.D.E.P.).
The Pompton Lakes Municipal Utilities Authority, in conjunction with N.J.D.E.P. approved independent laboratories, conducts over 400 tests each year to ensure your drinking water meets all of these standards.
The PLMUA started an extensive water main and valve exercising program on June 3rd, 2019. This is being performed to ensure that all of the valves in our system are operational. The PLMUA has nearly 1,000 water main valves within our system ranging from 4 to 16 inches. We expect the program to be completed within a two year period. Customers may experience discolored water and/or low water pressure. If you experience discolored water, run your COLD water only until it runs clear.
The Consumer Confidence Report for 2019 is now available to any of our customers who wish to view it. It can be found on our Customer Information page.
