North Pumping Station Upgrades

Water Quality Study

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) have been requiring authorities and water companies to monitor for PFAS for years. PFAS stand for per and poly-fluoroalkyl substances and are manufactured chemicals that can be found in food packaging, non-stick cookware, stain-resistant fabrics/carpets, and firefighting foam. New US EPA regulations for PFAS have been proposed and are scheduled to be finalized by the end of 2023.

To ensure the Pompton Lakes M.U.A is prepared for the new PFAS Rule, the Authority has tasked H2M Engineers with performing a pilot study to help us determine what types of modifications/upgrades will be needed at the Well houses. The Authority is determined to remain in compliance if the new PFAS Rule goes into effect in 2024.

Water Service Line Survey

Public Law 2021, Chapter 183 (NJ Bill A5343/S3398) requires all community water systems (CWS) to perform an initial service line inventory and make the findings publicly available. To update our records, we’re asking for your help to identify what type of material your service is by conducting a visual inspection and completing an online Water Service Inspection Form.

Please be advised that Authority employees will be leaving Service Line Survey Door Hangers as notice and will be available to perform the survey if assistance is needed.

Leak Detection

GIS Mapping

Authority personnel will continue the GIS Mapping of all water service curb boxes throughout the borough. This includes the testing of each curb stop and the repair/replacement of all curb boxes where needed.

Security Assessment

The completion of an independent water and wastewater Facilities Security/Operational Assessment.

Pond Hole Replacements

Replacement of the East Pond Hole 8-inch Sanitary Sewer Main, Clean Outs, and Sanitary Sewer Manholes.
