Protecting Our Ground Water
- Limit use of household and garden chemicals.
- Never pour chemicals or paint down the sink or storm drain, or on the ground.
- Bring all hazardous waste (such as motor oil) to a hazardous waste collection center.
Conserving Our Ground Water
- Check all sinks (outside and inside), sprinkler system, and pools
(automatic refilling device) for leaks.
- Fix leaks, and you will save a significant amount of water.
- Install low-volume toilets and water efficient showerheads.
- Turn off water when brushing teeth and save 4 gallons a minute.
-
When washing dishes by hand don't let the water run while rinsing. Fill the sink with rinse water.
